Director General Kindergarten & Elementary School Guidance Review PMTAS Programme


GARUT, supplementary feeding program for elementary school students which is a program of the new National Education Ministry started this year and were undertaken in some areas by the number of students who get the program as much as 308 thousand students, spread in 38 District, reviewed directly by the Director of Supervision TK & SD National Education Ministry Director General for Basic and Secondary Education DR.Wardjito.

On the occasion, Wardjito revealed, this program is not yet implemented in all of Indonesia, in West Java alone, only Garut Regency who get the program as a pilot for other regions, apart from Garut still there are 26 districts / cities in 26 provinces that get the program with the number of students who get extra food as much as 1.2 million students.
Supplementary feeding itself, according to Wardjito also inculcate religious values and clean lifestyle to children, because every time before eating, children are required to read a prayer together and wash their hands, these values are expected to be implemented by the students in everyday life.


Currently, according Wardjito, the government has budgeted funds amounting to Rp.200 billion more for programs PMTAS for six months, year 2011, the total budget will be increased two-fold since the program will run for one year. As for the addition of student quota beneficiaries in 2011 PMTAS thinks it can not be done, plans the addition of quota students receiving new PMTAS program will be conducted in 2012.While related, additional facilities such as water lines and water faucets where students wash their hands and cooking equipment in schools should be prepared for schools receiving a supplementary food program, according to Wardjito, it can be taken from the School Operational Funds even though the rules do not use BOS regulated."Many government disburse funds from various programs to schools such as the BOS, could have to make tap water and buy cooking equipment was taken from the BOS funds," he said after seeing the implementation of supplementary feeding on the SDN Mandalasari Mandalasari Village IV and III SDN Kadungora Kadungora Village.


The existence of additional facilities to be constructed schools receiving these PMTAS program, justified by Suhanda Pd Mandalasari Elementary School Principal IV, according to him, since receiving PMTAS program, the school makes the water following the installation of several water faucet mounted on the sidelines, in addition, parties schools must also provide cooking equipment and water pumps for washing hands needs students.


When asked from where the school finance such purpose, according to Suhanda all it was built independently with parents and communities, there are parents who contributed to the water faucet, pipe pralon, cooking utensils and water pumps which all eventually be used by the school for the benefit of students. "We build all of this equipment independently, not using the BOS funds, there are parents and local people who contributed to the water faucets, pipes and others," he said.
